The web is full of rich content, images are one of them.

An image is a pixelated representation of several data blocks. That's why it takes longer to download especially via the internet.

If you own an ecommerce website, how are you going to resize your 5000+ images in one go?

You do not have time to optimise them one-by-one.

Unless your website has a built-in image processing application, you must optimise your images manually.

Even then, there are always better options available than your built-in image processing application because it may fall behind with the image processing algorithms.
